Works With Your Existing Automatic Chicken Door
Mother Hen attaches to the vertically-opening automatic chicken door you already own and reads its open/closed position. It does not open or close the door — it watches. We do not include or sell a door, motor, limit switch, or door plate.
BTS-MP1 opening + temperature sensors (open/close + temperature)
Magnetic open/close sensor that mounts on any opening — doors, windows, nest box lids, hatches, or run gates — and reports coop temperature at that location. Can also be deployed in temperature-only mode on an interior wall, near a roost, or inside a brooder. Sold à la carte: first unit $15, additional units $35 each.
Cellular-Only Coop Controller
Cellular-only at launch. No home Wi-Fi required at the coop. Powered from a single 110V outlet (any source — grid, solar, generator). Rated -20°C to +45°C.
The Egg — Indoor Alert Beacon
Indoor beacon. Green (day), Blue (night), Red Flash + Squawk (problem). Up to 16 per coop.
AWS Cloud Processing (Core Brain)
All logic, timing, and alerts happen in the cloud:
Sunrise/Sunset Calculation — Uses your coop’s GPS coordinates (set once during setup)
30-Minute Grace Window — No false alarms from slow doors

Door events and temperature history stored in AWS for later review.
110V Outlet at the Coop
One 110V outlet in the coop powers the Controller. Source-agnostic — grid, solar with inverter, or generator all work.
Extreme Climate Ready
Coop Controller rated -20°C to +45°C (-4°F to 113°F). Currently running in Tennessee and Colorado beta coops.
